Original Clothing

A modern reinterpretation of
Japan’s traditional clothing

We manufacture and sell everyday Japanese clothing primarily using fabrics woven in-house. Traditional Japanese garments such as happi coats, jinbei, samue, and monpe, allo of which originated as are crafted from natural cotton, providing refreshing coolness and warmth comparable to synthetic fibers. Moreover, our integrated infrastructure, encompassing weaving, pattern making, sewing, and inspection, allows for highly flexible production.

Hanten

Originally created as everyday wear for commoners during the Edo period, the hanten has been cherished for centuries by people of all genders and generations, both at home and outdoors. Although the number of hanten wearers has declined with the spread of modern heating, it remains a practical outer garment—providing warmth comparable to down jackets while made entirely from natural fibers, and offering a comfort reminiscent of being wrapped in bedding. Our hanten are crafted using a proprietary, patented manufacturing method that allows us to produce high-quality garments with both speed and consistency.

Fabrics

We produce Hanten jackets using traditional fabrics such as dobby weaving, which creates three-dimensional patterns by manually operating the loom’s frame, katsuo-stripes, which features a gradient color change resembling the back of a skipjack tuna, and Amunsen weaving, which combines warp and weft threads in complex patterns.

Padding

The filling of our cotton-padded jackets is made from carefully cultivated materials from India and Pakistan, featuring thick, resilient desi cotton that creates a fluffy, warm, and lightweight insulation. Its dense fibers capture layers of air, effectively retaining body heat to provide lasting warmth.
